PHP self installer
January 31, 2007
Heres a link to a PHP installer for windows. On a mac its installed with the operating system but for windows you have to install php and apache through the cmd line. This program will install all that for you without all the complicated commands.
EDIT: It is installed on a mac by default but you don’t want to use that one (too difficult and messy to get working). Mac users use the one here , It’s very straight forward.

Seem to remember it taking me an afternoon to get Apache with PHP up and running on my PC, not too difficult if you follow the instructions, not quite as easy as installing general software though.

Never had to install apache so not sure how difficult that is. The first time installing php / mysql etc. there is a learning curve – but its all good, as a web designer if you can do these sorts of things its a real bonus.

…or hopefully you work in a big enough corporation to just get tech support to do it for you, as you will be far too busy designing funky new stuff
